CONSULTING EXPERIENCE

I have provided strategic consulting services for major international organizations, including the European Commission, Food and Agriculture Organization, International Federation of the Red Cross, United Nations Development Programme and the World Food Programme.

This consulting experience includes the development of regional disaster preparedness and crisis management strategies and programs, technical and strategic support for the planning and implementation of regional and country plans, systematization exercises and partnership developments.

My consulting work showcases my ability to analyze complex situations, develop innovative solutions, and engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

In my recent roles with the United Nations, I served as a strategic advisor in emergency preparedness and response, emergency supply chain preparedness and response coordinator, and program emergency expert for COVID-19. I was responsible for strengthening internal preparations, implementing projects, coordinating responses to disasters, managing partnerships, and mobilizing resources. These roles required me to demonstrate exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and coordination skills in high-pressure environments.

Additionally, my experience with the International Federation of the Red Cross involved providing strategic and technical consultancy support for the Americas Regional Office and leading the technical movement coordination team in the Caribbean region, specifically in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. In these roles, I established technical partnerships, supported resource development efforts, ensured effective program implementation, and fostered collaboration with various stakeholders.

Throughout my 15-year journey with the European Commission in the Caribbean region and Haiti, I have honed my coaching, leadership, and stress management skills in the most challenging environments. I actively contributed to the development and implementation of comprehensive humanitarian responses, particularly in the aftermath of the January 2010 earthquakes. Focusing on water and sanitation, as well as disaster risk reduction, I played a pivotal role in monitoring, evaluating, and providing technical support for over 30 projects.

In addition to my expertise in humanitarian aid, I have led advocacy efforts to promote the adoption of national and regional strategies for disaster risk reduction, humanitarian standards, and community involvement. As a representative of the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Department, I had the privilege of attending major international conferences in the Caribbean, advocating for effective humanitarian practices.

My extensive experience also includes conducting more than 18 emergency evaluation missions across the Caribbean and undertaking over 100 field missions in the region. During these missions, I provided technical support to governments and NGOs, conducted evaluations, and monitored community programs.
